(Mark 14:12-26)
I. The New Covenant points backward. (v. 12-16)
- The Passover demanded an unblemished sacrifice. (Exodus 12:3-6)
- The Passover demanded a trust in the salvation process. (Exodus 12:7-12)
- The distinguishing mark is the blood. (Exodus 12:13)
II. The New Covenant points inward. (v. 22-24)
- It reminds us that it is His body that fulfills the righteousrequirements of God not ours.
- It reminds us that it is His blood that was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.
- It reminds us that He established a new covenant by His blood.
