“Celebrating the New Covenant”

(Mark 14:12-26)

I. The New Covenant points backward. (v. 12-16)

  1. The Passover demanded an unblemished sacrifice. (Exodus 12:3-6)
  2. The Passover demanded a trust in the salvation process. (Exodus 12:7-12)
  3. The distinguishing mark is the blood. (Exodus 12:13)

II. The New Covenant points inward. (v. 22-24)

  1. It reminds us that it is His body that fulfills the righteous​requirements of God not ours.
  2. It reminds us that it is His blood that was shed for the ​forgiveness of our sins.
  3. It reminds us that He established a new covenant by His blood.

II. The New Covenant points forward. (v. 22-26)
