I. Discovering the privilege of prayer. (vs. 1)

II. Learning the posture of prayer. (vs. 2-4)

1. A posture of personal reverence.
2. A posture of Sovereignty.
3. A posture of dependency.
   • Provision
   • Forgiveness

III. Understanding the principle of persistency. (vs. 5-13)

1. We are to ask without shame.
2. Our confidence is in the character of the Father.
3. The ultimate gift is the Holy Spirit.

Creating a plan for prayer

DAILY:

• Praise God for who He is.
• Thank God for being a sovereign God who is in control of the world He created.
• Ask God to provide your needs for the coming day.
• Thank God for His forgiveness and ask for His protection from evil.
• Ask God to help you treat others as He has treated you.
• Ask God to protect and provide for your family.
