“The Message of the Cross?”
(1 Corinthians 1:18-31)
True north is the place where the imaginary rotational axis intersects the earth. It is the truest north point. All other directions come from true north. Before Paul begins addressing issues with the church he must remind them of true north.
I. The search to know God (Ecclesiastes 3:11) (Romans 1:18-20)
II. What is the message of the cross? (vs. 18)
- It is foolishness to those who are perishing.
- It is power to those who are saved.
- It is what destroys the wisdom of the world.
- It is Christ crucified.
III. Why did God choose to provide salvation this way? (vs. 26-31)
The message of the cross is our true north!
